While the pandemic’s health and economic effects continue to be felt statewide, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s Workforce Centers want Colorado’s workers and employers to know they’re still open for business.

During a time of record unemployment, the state’s 52 Workforce Centers are still providing services at least virtually, including the ones in Sterling, Fort Morgan, Yuma, Burlington, Limon, and Kiowa.

These Workforce Centers provide a wide range of free services for both workers and employers. Career counselors can connect workers and job seekers to local employment, training, and educational opportunities, as well as any available funding; they can also help clients improve their interviewing skills and resume. Perhaps one of the most valuable services Workforce Centers provide is helping clients create career plans based on the client’s unique needs and interests.

Employers will also benefit from Workforce Centers’ knowledgeable staff, who can connect them to funding and training opportunities while also helping them recruit, hire, and keep the skilled talent they need to grow.

“At the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, we understand that the needs of employers and workers living in Northeastern Colorado differ from those along the Front Range,” said Dawn Robards, Regional Director of the Eastern Workforce Region. “That’s why we hire people from those areas to work at our Workforce Centers, people familiar with the communities they serve who can provide assistance based on workers’ and employers’ specific needs. During this time of unprecedented unemployment, we encourage both workers and employers living in these areas to take advantage of the many services our Workforce Centers provide.”

Workers and employers can contact the Workforce Centers at the numbers and email addresses below to learn what services are available, and on what platforms. Virtual appointments are available at all of the Workforce Centers listed below, and all but Yuma and Kiowa Workforce Centers are providing services in person following social distancing guidelines.
