Steps to Complete Your USPS Identity Verification:
- USPS in-person verification is only available for claimants who file their initial claim by phone with the UI Division.
- You will need to call the Customer Service Center at 303-318-9000 for those in the Denver Metro Area or Toll-Free at 1-800-388-5515 and speak with a representative to assist you with your claim filing. (Note: you must have an email address to complete this process)
- Once the customer service agent helps you complete your request to verify your identity at USPS, they will complete a form for you, and confirm that you have received an email with further instructions on how to complete the process (this email also has your barcode). Please do not delete this email.
- You will have seven days to go in-person to a full-service USPS location.
- You must bring with you:
- Your barcode (which can be a printed page, screenshot or you can show the email itself)
- Required ID Verification Documents (see details below)
- Proof of your current address (if different than the one on your ID, or using an ID with no address listed)
- If you pass this process, your claim will continue. If you fail to complete the USPS in-person process, your claim may be delayed, and you may be required to verify your identity using a different method.
- You will not be able to manage your claim through MyUI+ unless you complete identity verification through ID.me. ID.me is the new login and Identity Verification tool utilized by CDLE. To learn more about ID.me and how to manage your claim online through MyUI+, visit our Verify Your Identity with ID.me page.
