We are excited to share that the recommendations of the worker subcommittee for pre-closure activities are well underway.
Jennifer Pieroni, our new navigator in the Yampa Valley, has been extremely busy in her first month with our office, making connections and identifying partnerships that will help move this work forward at the community level. Her presence has catalyzed our efforts, and a number of developments are also launching locally that will support workers (i.e. the regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has received funds from the CO Office of Economic Development and International Trade to hire a dedicated staff member to serve the area).
At the state, we have been working to identify ways to move funding to support these activities, as well as exploring existing models to replicate or enhance to support workers and their families.
