Low-Cost Health Insurance Options Available for Unemployment Recipients

Coloradans who have received unemployment benefits for at least one week in 2021 can now qualify for $0 and low-cost health insurance plans through Connect for Health Colorado. Enrollment is open through August 15, but the sooner you apply and enroll, the sooner your coverage will begin. To find out if you qualify for either $0 or low-cost health insurance plans, use the anonymous Quick Cost and Plan Finder tool and click the box that says, “I received unemployment benefits in 2021” when asked about your income. Certified experts are available to help you navigate enrollment and ensure you are receiving all the financial help you qualify for at no cost. Click here to find an Enrollment Center and schedule an appointment with a certified expert.

Work Search Requirements

Remember, you are required to participate in work search activities each week in order to maintain your eligibility to receive unemployment benefits. Please document your efforts and report your activities when requesting payment each week. Your claim may be audited and your reported work search activities could be subject to verification at any time up to two years from the start of your claim. Applying for a job, interviewing with a potential employer, adding a resume to an online job board, and participating in a job fair or a networking event are a few examples of valid work search activities. Remember, claimants who refuse suitable work can be disqualified from receiving UI benefits. Click here for more information on work search requirements.
