This is an official communication from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Unemployment Insurance Division.
Watch Out for Scams
We’re continuing to closely monitor scams targeting Colorado unemployment claimants. As we’ve communicated before, scammers are using sophisticated phishing attacks including fake websites to try to trick Coloradans into giving up personal information, including Social Security numbers and passwords, in order to hijack claims and redirect benefit payments.
Please remember to be careful about clicking links in emails and text messages. CDLE will never send you a text message with a link to log into your MyUI+ account. If you are unsure about any link asking you to log into your account, please disregard the link and instead access your MyUI+ account from the official CDLE website at ColoradoUI.gov.
If you suspect your claim may have been hijacked for fraudulent activity, please log into your account using your current credentials and reset your password immediately, then review and update your address, phone, email, and payment method.
Include Claimant ID on All Mailed/Faxed Documents
When submitting any documentation to CDLE by mail or fax, please include your name and Claimant ID number on any pages which are not a barcoded CDLE form. This will allow staff to more quickly locate your claim and reduce processing delays. Additionally, when submitting documents by fax, there is no need to include a fax cover sheet — these are unnecessary and increase processing time.
Colorado Jumpstart
Don’t forget: there’s still time to take advantage of Colorado Jumpstart, a monetary incentive program designed to support unemployed Coloradans as they return to work. Colorado unemployment claimants currently receiving either state unemployment benefits or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) benefits may be eligible to receive an incentive payment of $1,200 if they return to work before June 26, 2021.
Participating in Colorado Jumpstart is easy. If you’ve returned to work or accepted a job offer, simply answer yes to the “Have you returned to work” question during your weekly certification. You’ll then be presented with an option to opt in to Colorado Jumpstart. You’ll receive the first half of your incentive after approximately four weeks of employment, with the second half paid after approximately eight weeks of employment.
Unfortunately, claimants receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), claimants participating in work share programs, and out-of-state claimants are not eligible to participate in Colorado Jumpstart. For more information, visit ColoradoUI.gov.
ID.me Update
Good news: The ID.me process has recently been updated to provide users with the option to complete the entire identity verification process on a webcam-enabled desktop or laptop computer.
Previously, users on desktop or laptop computers were required to switch to a mobile device to complete the selfie portion of the process. Now, ID.me will present users with the option to take the selfie using either their webcam-enabled desktop or laptop computer, or switch to a mobile device.
Emergency Rental Assistance
Don’t forget to complete your application for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) before your next rent payment is due. If you have started your application directly with the state of Colorado but have not received payment, please return to the ERAP Application Portal and make sure both you and your landlord have responded to all necessary questions:
https://portal.neighborlysoftware.com/ERAP-COLORADO/Participant
If you have applied through a locality rather than the state Division of Housing directly, OR need to start an application for rental assistance due to loss of income from the COVID-19 pandemic, please go to the ERAP information and application web page:
https://cdola.colorado.gov/rental-mortgage-assistance
ERAP can help renters and property owners as far back as April 2020 and can cover past due, current, and two additional months of expected rent costs.
