Emergency Rental Assistance

Did you know that if you have been unable to pay your rent due to financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency assistance is available?

The Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) can help renters as far back as April 2020. Help can include past due, current, and two additional months of expected rent costs. After the initial assistance, you can apply for additional assistance, if funds are still available.

For more information about the Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance Program, visit cdola.colorado.gov/rental-mortgage-assistance.

Colorado Jumpstart

There’s still time to take advantage of Colorado Jumpstart, a monetary incentive program designed to support unemployed Coloradans as they return to work. Colorado unemployment claimants currently receiving either state unemployment benefits or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) benefits may be eligible to receive an incentive payment of $1,200 if they return to work before June 26, 2021.

Participating in Colorado Jumpstart is easy. If you’ve returned to work or accepted a job offer, simply answer yes to the “Have you returned to work” question during your weekly certification. You’ll then be presented with an option to opt in to Colorado Jumpstart. You’ll receive the first half of your incentive after approximately four weeks of employment, with the second half paid after approximately eight weeks of employment.

Unfortunately, claimants receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), claimants participating in workshare programs, and out-of-state claimants are not eligible to participate in Colorado Jumpstart. For more information, visit ColoradoUI.gov.

Watch Out for Scams

Unfortunately, scammers are continuing to aggressively target Colorado unemployment recipients. Many scammers have even set up fake websites which look similar to official CDLE websites in an attempt to trick you into giving up personal information. Be very careful about the links you click and which websites you enter your personal information into. Entering personal information like your Social Security number or MyUI+ password into a scam website will allow a scammer to take over your claim and intercept your benefits.

CDLE will never send you a text message with a link to log into your MyUI+ account. If you are unsure about any link asking you to log into your account, please disregard the link and instead access your MyUI+ account from the official CDLE website at ColoradoUI.gov.

For more information and examples of known scams, visit the Scams page on our UI Daily Dashboard.
