CDLE Offices Closed on Monday, July 5

Colorado Department of Labor and Employment offices, as well as many financial institutions, will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Benefit payments may be delayed by 1-2 days depending on your method of payment.

Enhanced Account Security Measures Coming

As we’ve shared in recent weeks, fraudsters continue to target unemployed Coloradans using fake websites, emails, text messages, and automated phone calls in an effort to compromise claimants’ accounts and steal unemployment benefits.

In order to better safeguard Colorado unemployment claimants against these attacks, we will be adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) to the MyUI+ login process. Multi-factor authentication simply means the use of more than one method to verify that a user is who they claim to be. You may already be familiar with apps or websites that use MFA, such as a website sending you a text message with a code or a notification on your phone asking you to confirm. MFA will significantly enhance your MyUI+ account security and make it much harder for scammers to compromise accounts and steal benefits. Stay tuned to your email for more information in the coming weeks.

Last Chance to Opt In to Colorado Jumpstart

If you returned to work between May 30 and June 26, 2021, don’t forget to opt in to Colorado Jumpstart, a program designed to support unemployed Coloradans who are rejoining the workforce with incentives of up to $1200.

Participating in Colorado Jumpstart is easy. If you were receiving regular state unemployment benefits or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) benefits and returned to work between May 30 and June 26, 2021, simply answer yes to the “Have you returned to work” question during your weekly certification in your MyUI+ account. You’ll then be presented with an option to opt in to Colorado Jumpstart. You’ll receive the first half of your incentive after approximately four weeks of employment, with the second half paid after approximately eight weeks of employment.

Unfortunately, claimants receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), claimants participating in workshare programs, and out-of-state claimants are not eligible to participate in Colorado Jumpstart. For more information, visit ColoradoUI.gov.

PUA Quarter Change

Federal rules require claimants receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits to reapply for regular state unemployment benefits each quarter.

The quarter will change on July 1, 2021, at which time PUA claimants will need to reapply by selecting the “Apply for Standard UI benefits” in the navigation menu.

MyUI+ Unavailable after 8 P.M. on July 7

The MyUI+ system and automated phone systems will be unavailable from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7 through 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 8 for system maintenance. Claimants will not be able to file a claim, request payment, or have access to their online account during this time.

Reminder: Please Include Claimant ID on All Mailed/Faxed Documents

When submitting documentation to CDLE by mail or fax, you must return verification documents with the barcoded form(s) which were sent to you. Please include your name and Claimant ID number on any pages which are not a barcoded CDLE form. This will allow staff to more quickly locate your claim and reduce processing delays.

Additionally, when submitting documents by fax, there is no need to include a fax cover sheet — these are unnecessary and increase processing time. Please submit documentation via your MyUI+ account rather than faxing or mailing whenever possible in order to reduce processing delays.
