Beware of Fake Text Messages and Other Scams

As you may know, fraudsters continue to target unemployed Coloradans. We’re continuing to see scams using fake text messages with links to fake websites in an attempt to trick Coloradans into giving up personally identifiable information.

These scams often encourage recipients to click a link in order to log into their MyUI+ account or “verify” some information in order to receive benefits.

Scam websites often include incorrect spelling or capitalization, but some more sophisticated scams may look almost identical to official CDLE websites.

CDLE will never send you a text message with a link to log into your MyUI+ account. If you receive a text message purporting to be from CDLE with a link, do not click the link. If you are unsure about any link asking you to log into your account, please disregard the link and instead access your MyUI+ account from the official CDLE website at ColoradoUI.gov.

For more information about scams, including examples, visit our UI Daily Dashboard at uidailydashboard.cdle.co and select “Scams” from the navigation menu.

Quarter Change

Federal rules require claimants receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits to reapply for regular state unemployment benefits each quarter. All claimants whose Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Assistance (PEUC) claims have expired or passed their Benefit Year End date must also reapply.

The most recent quarter change was on July 1, 2021. Affected claimants who have not yet done so will need to reapply by selecting the “Apply for Standard UI benefits” in the navigation menu.

Reminder: MyUI+ Unavailable after 8 P.M. Today

The MyUI+ system and automated phone systems will be unavailable from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7 through 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 8 for system maintenance. Claimants will not be able to file a claim, request payment, or have access to their online account during this time.

Reminder: Please Include Claimant ID on All Mailed/Faxed Documents

When submitting documentation to CDLE by mail or fax, you must return verification documents with the barcoded form(s) which were sent to you. Please include your name and Claimant ID number on any pages which are not a barcoded CDLE form. This will allow staff to more quickly locate your claim and reduce processing delays.

Additionally, when submitting documents by fax, there is no need to include a fax cover sheet — these are unnecessary and increase processing time. Please submit documentation via your MyUI+ account rather than faxing or mailing whenever possible in order to reduce processing delays.
