Coming Soon: MyUI+ Account Security Enhancements
Later this month, we will add multi-factor authentication (MFA) to the MyUI+ login process in order to better safeguard Colorado unemployment claimants against scams and other attempts to compromise their accounts.
Multi-factor authentication simply means the use of more than one method to verify that a user is who they claim to be. You may already be familiar with other apps or websites which, in addition to asking for a password, ask you to verify a code sent via text message or email. MFA will significantly enhance the security of all MyUI+ accounts and make it much harder for scammers to compromise your account and steal your benefits.
When you log into your MyUI+ account the first time after we launch this feature, you will be required to set up multi-factor authentication. Thereafter, depending on which option you select, each time you log in, you will receive a code either an authenticator app on your phone, email, or text message, which you’ll enter into MyUI+ to confirm that it’s you accessing your account.
Before this new security feature goes live, you will receive an email with step-by-step instructions and screenshots.
Last Chance: Deadline for Low-Cost Health Insurance Enrollment is August 15
Coloradans who have received unemployment benefits for at least one week beginning in 2021 can now qualify for $0 and low-cost health insurance plans through Connect for Health Colorado. Enrollment is open through August 15, but the sooner you apply and enroll, the sooner your coverage will begin.
To find out if you qualify for either $0 or low-cost health insurance plans, use the anonymous Quick Cost and Plan Finder tool at planfinder.connectforhealthco.com. Click the box that says, “I received unemployment benefits in 2021” when asked about your income. Certified experts are available to help you navigate enrollment and ensure you are receiving all the financial help you qualify for at no cost. Reminder: Federal Pandemic Benefits Ending in September
Per the American Rescue Plan Act, federal pandemic benefit programs including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) will expire on Monday, September 6, 2021.
The duration of these federal benefit programs was determined by Congress, and Colorado does not have the power to extend them.
By law, we cannot pay partial weeks, so the final week that benefits will be paid for these federal programs in Colorado is the week ending Saturday, September 4, 2021. If you are currently receiving PUA, PEUC, and/or FPUC benefits, those benefits will end on that date.

Beware of Text Message Scams
We’re continuing to monitor and investigate scammers who are targeting unemployed Coloradans. This week, we’ve seen the reappearance of a text message scam in which scammers, purporting to be CDLE, send a text message to unsuspecting claimants saying there are “discrepancies” in their claim and ask them to click a link to view a secure message.
As a reminder, CDLE never sends text messages which include links. If you receive a text message purporting to be from CDLE with a link, do not click the link. It is a scam. These links often open fake websites which may look like MyUI+ but in reality allow scammers to capture the login information you enter, providing them access to your real claim. Be careful!
Notices of Determination
Over the coming weeks, some claimants will receive a Notice of Determination in the mail concerning benefits which were received during the COVID-19 pandemic. These notices are related to the administration of existing claims and are not an indication of any additional benefits or eligibility. Most claimants can disregard this notice. However, claimants’ former employers could appeal benefit payments charged against their accounts, so please be sure to participate in the appeal process if you receive a separate appeal notification.
Do’s and Don’ts of Submitting Documents
DO:
✓ Use MyUI+ to respond to questionnaires, file an appeal, or upload supporting documentation rather than faxing or mailing. Faxing or mailing materials will extend processing times.
✓ When submitting documents by fax or mail, return the barcoded CDLE form with any supporting documentation, and make sure the barcoded form is on top!
✓ Include your name and Claimant ID number on any pages which are not a barcoded CDLE form.
✓ When returning multiple forms, make sure all pages are in the proper order with the CDLE barcoded form being on top of any supporting documentation for each form.
✓ If you are unable to return the form, include the Document ID on all pages. This can be found at the bottom left corner of the form.
DON’T:
✗ When submitting documents by fax, do not include a cover page other than the CDLE barcoded form.
✗ Do not send multiple pages in single-page faxes.
