If you receive a Notice of Determination, Liability Determination, Worker Classification, or Seasonal Status Determination that you disagree with, you may submit an appeal. After we receive your appeal and schedule a hearing, you will receive a notice with the hearing date and time.
When do I appeal?
Submit your appeal right away. Your appeal must be received within 20 calendar days of the date the Notice of Determination was mailed. If the 20th calendar day is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the due date of the appeal becomes the next business day.

During the appeal process, claimants should continue to request payment online in MyUI+ or via phone.
Submitting an Appeal
Claimants
It is recommended that you submit an appeal through MyUI+ so your appeal is processed more quickly.
You can submit your appeal online through MyUI+ by viewing your Notice of Determination, or by using the form on the back of the Notice of Determination to write and submit an appeal statement. Include a clear explanation of what you disagree with and why you disagree with the Notice of Determination. Your appeal statement does not need to be lengthy, but it should include specific details about the reason you disagree with the decision. Attach additional pages if necessary.
If mailing or faxing your appeal, please make sure that the correct determination is attached to the appeal. Provide any address changes and interpreter information on the form. Sign and date your appeal.
