In celebration of Workforce Development Month, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) has chosen the week of September 13th to highlight how apprenticeship programs benefit workers, employers, and communities.

In celebration of Workforce Development Month, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) has chosen the week of September 7th to highlight the many no-cost services its 52 Workforce Centers provide workers and employers.

In recognition of the critical role workforce development services play in advancing Colorado’s economic recovery in the wake of the pandemic, Governor Jared Polis signed a proclamation declaring September Workforce Development Month. The signing follows the passing of 53 bills to support Colorado’s recovery as part of its Colorado Comeback.

First quarter 2021 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) results indicate Colorado total nonfarm payroll jobs estimates will be revised up for this period with the release of benchmarked estimates in March 2022.

Coloradans entering registered apprenticeship programs are now eligible to receive up to $500 scholarship through an exciting partnership with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and the state’s workforce system.

According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was little changed in July at 6.1 percent. During the same period, the national unemployment rate fell five-tenths of a percentage point to 5.4 percent.

(DENVER) — The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported 3,317 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending July 24th — the lowest number of initial claims filed in a single week since the start of the pandemic. There were also 1,119 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) claims filed for the same week.

(DENVER) — In order to better safeguard Colorado unemployment claimants against scams and other attempts to compromise their accounts, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of the MyUI+ login process. MyUI+ is the state’s new, modernized online portal used to file unemployment insurance claims that was launched in January of this year. 

According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was flat in June at 6.2 percent. During the same period, the national unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point to 5.9 percent.

On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, Governor Jared Polis signed SB21-095, extending the Employment First Advisory Partnership (EFAP) and creating a hiring preference pilot program for qualified applicants with disabilities, developed by the Governor’s office, the Attorney General’s office, the Department of Personnel Administration (DPA), the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
