Press Release: Employees Are Entitled to Paid Sick Leave to Get Vaccinated

(DENVER) — The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) is reminding Colorado workers that under Colorado paid sick leave law, all employees in Colorado have a right to take paid leave from work to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees are also entitled to use paid leave if they experience vaccine side effects that prevent them from working.

Press Release: More than $437 Million in Fraudulent Payments Prevented During Pandemic

(DENVER) — Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced it has prevented $437.16 million in fraudulent unemployment payments. Identifying and preventing improper and fraudulent payments is a priority for the Department and the entire Unemployment Insurance system nationwide as every state has experienced an unprecedented amount of suspicious activity since the pandemic began. CDLE continues to increase its fraud triggers and implement new, aggressive tactics — including an identity verification requirement — to prevent criminals from collecting undue unemployment benefits.

Press Release: Colorado Employment Situation – March 2021

According to the survey of households, Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was flat in March, matching the revised February rate of 6.4 percent. During the same period, the national unemployment rate declined two-tenths of a percentage point to 6.0 percent.

Press Release: Update for the Week Ending April 10th: UI Claims and Reemployment Support

DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 8,927 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending April 10th. There were also 2,132 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 909,661 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,175,514 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

Press Release: Update for the Week Ending April 3rd: UI Claims and Reemployment Support

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 9,305 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending April 3rd. There were also 2,180 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 900,734 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,164,455 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

The Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS)1 program is a Federal-State cooperative program that provides estimates of employment and wages for over 800 non-military detailed occupations in 22 major occupational groups. Every year, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, in partnership with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, collects and publishes occupation and wage data for the State of Colorado and for ten substate regions: seven Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and three Balance of State (BOS) Areas.

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 10,268 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending March 27th. There were also 1,747 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 891,429 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,152,970 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 11,568 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending March 20th. There were also 1,922 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 881,161 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,140,955 claims, when the PUA program is included.*

(DENVER) -- Today the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) reported that an estimated 11,633 regular initial unemployment claims were filed the week ending March 13th. There were also 1,473 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) initial claims filed for the same week. Since mid-March 2020, an estimated total of 869,593 regular initial unemployment claims have been filed and a grand total of 1,127,465 claims, when the PUA program is included.*
