Coal Transition Worker Update | June 2023

The Office of Just Transition’s purpose is to assist those workers, families, and communities in Colorado most affected by the closure of coal mines and power plants – specifically from 2017 through at least the end of this decade.

9.3.2021 | Federal benefits end Saturday, Sept. 4

Don’t forget to log in to your MyUI+ account this weekend to certify for the final week of federal pandemic benefits. Per the American Rescue Plan Act, federal pandemic benefit programs including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) will end on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Update | 8.25.2021 | Federal Pandemic Benefits Ending in September

Per the American Rescue Plan Act, federal pandemic benefit programs including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) will expire on Monday, September 6, 2021.  By law, we cannot pay partial weeks, so the final week that benefits will be paid for these federal programs in Colorado is the week ending Saturday, September 4, 2021. If you are currently receiving PUA, PEUC, and/or FPUC benefits, those benefits will end on that date.

Update | 8.19.2021 | Multi-factor authentication coming to MyUI+ tomorrow

As we have communicated in recent weeks, we are adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) to the MyUI+ login process in order to better safeguard Colorado unemployment claimants against scams and other attempts to compromise their accounts. All claimants will be required to set up MFA the first time they log into their MyUI+ accounts beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 20. You do not need to click any link to set up MFA. Just log into your MyUI+ account as normal.
