A Division Independent Medical Examination (DIME) is a legal medical opinion sought by an injured worker or an insurer when there's a dispute about the date of Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI) and/or the impairment rating. It aims to resolve disputes without going to court, promoting resolution and minimizing legal conflicts. DIME Physicians serve on a DIME physician panel to provide an unbiased independent medical examination.

Requirements to Join the DIME Panel
- Level II Accreditation
- Board-certified or eligible
- Active Colorado medical license without limitations or restrictions
Engaged in at least 384 hours of direct patient care in the past calendar year
OR
384 hours of direct patient care (including medical/legal evaluation) during the previous 10 years with certification or medical education courses
