The Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS) regulates those who own or operate amusement rides and devices, commercial boilers, conveyances (elevators and escalators) and retail fueling facilities and those who are permitted to use high explosives.

The Division of Workers’ Compensation monitors the administration of workers' compensation claims, and provides administrative and judicial services to assist in resolving disputes that arise in connection with claims for workers' compensation benefits.

Division of Labor Standards & Statistics (DLSS)

Through the Office of Labor Standards (LS), the Division interprets, investigates, issues guidance and rules on, and enforces labor law. Through the Office of Labor Market Information (LMI), DLSS collects, calculates, and analyzes information on the state of, and trends in, labor markets throughout Colorado.

Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Office

The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) is a Governor-appointed, public-private partnership with the purpose to advise, oversee, and integrate the work of the Colorado talent development network. The CWDC Office is the work unit that supports the Colorado Workforce Development Council in their work to enhance and sustain a skills-based talent development network that meets the needs of employers, workers, job seekers, and learners for today and tomorrow.

Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation provides a wide variety of individualized services for people with disabilities to allow you to reach your employment goals. These services can include vocational guidance and counseling, short or long term training, job seeking skills, job development and job coaching, assistive technology and needed accommodations to participate with DVR and on the job. The DVR counselors have specific expertise in the medical and psychological aspects of disabilities and work holistically to support you in employment, community participation and living independently.

The Office of New Americans serves as the point of contact for the Governor’s office, state agencies, private sector organizations, and the public to advance the integration and inclusion of immigrants and refugees in Colorado communities.

Office of the Future Of Work (OFOW)

The Office of the Future of Work (OFOW) works to understand, prepare for, and develop effective policy and programmatic solutions to support Coloradans in today and tomorrow’s economy. The OFOW works in partnership with other state departments and convenes task forces and events with diverse stakeholders across different regions to explore the topic. The OFOW oversees the State Apprenticeship Agency which promotes and supports registered apprenticeship programs in Colorado. The OFOW administers USDOL-funded apprenticeship expansion grants to increase career and education pathways for jobseekers and students to high-wage careers, with an emphasis on historically excluded populations. The OFOW oversees the state’s Digital Equity initiative which partners with state agencies, community based organizations, and others to research digital literacy and the programmatic, technological, and educational infrastructure required to ensure all Coloradans have the devices, digital skills, and internet they need to participate in work, learning, and daily life.

Employment & Training Division (E&T)

The Division of Employment and Training (E&T) provides a wide range of services for businesses and job seekers. These services are delivered by state and county-run local workforce areas that support strong regional economies. Programs are funded by federal grants, and state general and cash funds. The division consists of two distinct program areas - Workforce Development Programs and the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium.
